  But wow, what talented modders there are! Probably won't use it for myself but for those who really want it that's good for them

  Yeah, I read that as well and didn't like the tone of it. Especially since plenty of us prefer the way it was done. It's nice that the option is there now, though

• Tried downloading it and it didn't work for me. If I can figure out how to conquer my animals fears without it I'll keep playing the way it came out but, it's frustrating without much to go on.

• Sound's awesome, but I love my pets unplayable. It feels more realistic, especially when they just run away for a little bit.

  Not that I know of..but you don't have to control them at all. I've used this very mod and I only use it when I absolutely want to check the UI or if some of the buggy things (like the dogs not going outside even though they learned how to) come up and I have to do it myself. It helps with that. Otherwise it doesn't take away from their autonomy at all. their still completely random with the same burden they came with

• Hi there, I cant seem to get it to work for the life of me. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. I go to the link, download it and then move it into the sims 4/ Mod folder, it shows up in my game under script mods, yet its like its not in the game at all. Please help!

Many of the cheats for the Cats and Dogs Expansion Pack require TestingCheats to be enabled. Please see that page for more information. As with all cheats, it may help to keep the game paused throughout this process.

Cats and Dogs Skill Cheats[edit]

Two cheats exist to directly set the level of a human Sim's Veterinary and Training skills. With TestingCheats enabled, make active the Sim you wish to change, then open the cheat console again for the following codes.

Where '#' is 1 through 10 inclusive, this sets the level of the Veterinary skill for your Sim:

Where '#' is 1 through 5 inclusive, this sets the level of the Training skill for your Sim:

Cats and Dogs Trait Cheats[edit]

You can force a Sim to take the Animal Affection Trait, usually awarded for finishing the Friend of the Animals aspiration with this:

Veterinary Clinic Perk Cheats[edit]

These cheats add the perk to the current family's vet clinic. Any Sim from the household needs to be at the lot you are affecting; multiple veterinary clinics owned by the same family are handled separately. There is no way to remove a perk you own.

Automatic Pet Friendship[edit]

This cheat will set a given human Sim's relationship level with a given animal. It requires TestingCheats enabled. In the following template, 'FN' is 'First Name,' 'LN' is 'Last Name,' and '#' is any integer from -100 to 100 inclusive:

So for example, if the Sim Pyro Falkon wants to be maxed out positive with a pet named Tiger Falkon, the code would be thus:

Note that some animals do not have last names, so that field could be left blank if necessary.

Convert Animal to Ghost[edit]

If you wish to convert an animal to a ghost (and thus sadly kill it), there is a two-part cheat for that as well. First, enable TestingCheats. Then, you need to find the in-game ID number of the animal you wish to change. To do this, you need to type the following in the cheat console, where 'FN' is 'First Name' and 'LN' is 'Last Name':

Additional Animal Edits[edit]

With TestingCheats enabled, you can shift-click your pets to add or remove personalities such as what appliances or other objects your pet fears or loves. You can also shift-click your pet to fully edit the animal in Create a Pet in case you want to change their gender or Pet Traits. Breed and body changes can be done in this mode as well, but they can also be done without cheats if a human Sim interacts with a mirror and uses the 'Change Sim' command since the entire family (animals included) will be taken to the Create a Sim screen.
